Solingen, Germany, known as "the City of Blades", is famous for it's manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors and razors.  It is home to numerous firms such as Wüsthof, Zwilling (J.A. Henckels), Wasa, Dovo, Boker, and Wilkinson.  
In Medieval times, the swordsmiths of Solingen coined the town's image, which is preserved to date. Some 90% of German knives are produced in Solingen.

Wasa nickel plated stainless steel scissors with a pretty scallop design on the handles. Handmade in Solingen, Germany.

Did you know you are supposed to use a separate pair of scissors for snipping metallic thread?  Even better, use serrated scissors on those scissor dulling filiments.
These scissors are specially made for us with one micro-serrated blade.  They are very sharp with excellent cutting quality.  Handcrafted by artisans in Solingen, Germany.

Very pretty, very sharp! Nickel plated with a scalloped design on the handles.  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.  
On the dainty side (i.e. smaller finger loops) these are just shy of 3.5" and have a polished chrome finish.  Very fine curved blades for getting into tiny places.  The tips have a very light gold plating to them (not easy to see). Black leather sheath included!  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.

Not your average storks, Dovo's are handcrafted in Solingen Germany.   Gold and nickel plated, they are available in 3.5" ($38) 4.5" ($42), or 6" ($50)

Finger loops are on the small side on the 3.5" size.

Very strong cut, nickel plated.  The blade portion is about 1.5" long.  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.

If you've never owned a pair of Dovo's, you should treat yourself!  Handmade in Solingen, Germany some of the most skilled craftsmen in the world, they just feel great to hold and a real pleasure to use.  These have intricately designed, gold plated handles.  Available in 3.5" ($45); 4.5" ($48); and 5" ($52).
