The best high quality scissors offered by specialized dealers worldwide are made by the DOVO factory in Solingen, Germany.
 
Only the finest steel is used, crafted by skilled workers into the cutting tools that provide excellent performance, are well balanced, and thoroughly made.
 
Up tp 165 production steps (and only a few of those are made by a machine) are necessary to manufacture DOVO scissors and they are done at the factory that was established in 1906.  From raw material that DOVO gets from a Solingen forge, to the finished scissor, it goes through many hands of skilled craftsmen.  Most of the work is done by hand, as it was at the beginning of the last century.  The workers are trained for several years until they achieve the skill necessary to create and finish a perect cutting tool that the user will enjoy for a long time.

DOVO Scalloped Scissors DOVO 3.5

Very pretty, very sharp! Nickel plated with a scalloped design on the handles.  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.  
On the dainty side (i.e. smaller finger loops) these are just shy of 3.5" and have a polished chrome finish.  Very fine curved blades for getting into tiny places.  The tips have a very light gold plating to them (not easy to see). Black leather sheath included!  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.

Not your average storks, Dovo's are handcrafted in Solingen Germany.   Gold and nickel plated, they are available in 3.5" ($38) 4.5" ($42), or 6" ($50)

Finger loops are on the small side on the 3.5" size.

Very strong cut, nickel plated.  The blade portion is about 1.5" long.  Handcrafted in Solingen, Germany.

If you've never owned a pair of Dovo's, you should treat yourself!  Handmade in Solingen, Germany some of the most skilled craftsmen in the world, they just feel great to hold and a real pleasure to use.  These have intricately designed, gold plated handles.  Available in 3.5" ($45); 4.5" ($48); and 5" ($52).

These are specially made for hardanger needlework with very thin tipped blades (see photo).  3.5"
Handmade in Solingen, Germany by some of the most skilled craftsmen in the world, they just feel great to hold and a real pleasure to use.  These have a black teflon finish and are 4" in length.
